I watch, as you add color to your smile.
There’s nothing wrong with the vision that I see,
But you have a desire to enhance your naturalness,
To be something even more beautiful than what you are.
Too often critical of yourself
Even though there is no need.
I can’t count the times that I’ve sat and gazed at you,
Mesmerized by each movement,
Fascinated by your charm,
With a sudden desire,
To hold you in my arms and breathe you inside.
Caught by your magic
And experiencing feelings often denied.
I don’t guess you’ll ever know what lies in my thoughts
Or the dreams and memories I have to hide.
Feeling so close, yet so far.
Wishing things were different.
That pathways were more clearly marked
And destinies better defined.
However, I guess I must just treasure each precious day
For tomorrow holds no promises
And I may no longer have the chance,
To watch as you add color to your smile.
