I opened my arms, she walked in,
Needing tenderness and a gentle man.
To feel secure and safe from harm;
No more fear, no more alarm.
She needed to be loved and taken away,
From dark midnight to the brightness of day.
A journey of sadness she had traversed,
Hoping now her luck reversed.
But the pain of loves that had gone wrong
Kept singing to her the same old song.
She couldn’t release or in others trust,
Which for lovers is a must.
I reached to hold her but she released
To drown in sorrow, never finding peace.
